About Orange

The City of Orange is situated in Central Orange County, about 30 miles southeast of Los Angeles, and approximately 3 miles north of the county seat – Santa Ana.


The area where Orange stands today was originally inhabited by Native Americans called Gabrielios, by the Spaniards. The first landholder was Juan Pablo Grijalva, a retired Spanish soldier who had marched through California with one of the early expeditions from Mexico.
